| Events National Food Summits
PICTs
are taking action in the face of a global financial crisis, rising food
costs, climate change, increasing food insecurity and the double burden
of undernutrition and non-communicable diseases. National Food Summits
help stimulate an integrated approach to the development and
implementation of food security, safety, quality and trade policies and
plans of action. They also affirm existing efforts to increase
agricultural productivity, to enhance access to food, and to bring
about behaviour change on diet and physical activity, as well as bring
innovative approaches to production, processing, regulating and trading
of food.
